Experts to Mull Aviation's Role in Major Events

Doha, April 27 (QNA) - Industry experts will mull role of aviation in a country successfully hosting large-scale global events at a forum opening at St Regis here Wednesday. Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker leads aviation specialists at the forum organised by NATS, UKs Air Traffic Management (ATM) services provider. The purpose of this event is to share knowledge and experience of how aviation can support a nation in the successful management of large world stage events, organisers said today. "Sharing knowledge and experience is lifeblood of aviation industry. This event is an excellent example. I look forward to discussions on this subject," said Al Baker. The forum will hear how the UK prepared its aviation to ensure a safe, efficient, and successful Olympic Games in 2012. NATS Middle East Director John Swift said, "Sharing with other countries the knowledge and experience we gained at 2012 Olympics delights us." (QNA)
