Explosion occurs in Beirut, 18 killed, two of them are Iranians

Baku, Azerbaijan, Nov. 19 By Umid Niayesh, Temkin Jafarov - Trend: An explosion took place in Beirut, which killed 18, two of them are Iranians, IRNA news agency reported on Nov. 19. Over 50 people were injured. One of the Iranian citizens killed in the blast was the Iranian embassy's culture advisor. According to the report Lebanese Prime Minister, Najib Azmi Mikati has talked with Iranian Ambassador to Beirut, Ghazanfar Roknabadi on the issue. A suspected car bomb near the Iranian embassy in Beirut on Tuesday killed seven people, Lebanese police said. The explosion took place in an area in the south of Beirut, which is mainly controlled by the Iran-backed Shiite movement Hezbollah. The Iranian ambassador to Lebanon and embassy staff are safe, a statement from the embassy says. According to the Lebanese media, two kamikaze bombers are behind the attacks.
