Explosions rock Thai South, no injuries

YALA, April 7 (TNA) - Thailand’s southern Yala province was hit Monday with four fresh bomb attacks, one of which triggered a large fire that engulfed a warehouse, causing some 100 million Baht worth of damage. Three of the explosions took place simultaneously at about 6.30 am while the other occurred at about 7 am., according to witnesses. No one was injured by the blasts, whcih came a day after the province was hit by four car bombs, which left one people dead and at least 28 others injured. Two small bombs went off at two 7-ELEVEN stores on Siroros 1 Road in Mueang district, causing damages to products on the convenience stores’ shelves. Local authorizes were checking footage of surveillance cameras at the stores for clues about bombing suspects. The third explosion took place at Sri Samai warehouse in Jarupattana area, causing the fire that took fire fighters more than one hour to control. The fourth bomb exploded in front of the Provincial Office of Non-Formal and Informal Education, shattering the building’s glass windows. The bomb had been placed in a trash can. (TNA)
