Famous explorer Jacek Pałkiewicz is in Kyrgyzstan

The world famous reporter and explorer, member of the Russian Geographical Society and a member of the Royal Geographical Society in London, who made the last geographical discovery of the XX century ( precise determining of the source of Amazon River in 1996) - Jacek Pałkiewicz has arrived in Kyrgyzstan to talk about upcoming project-expedition "The Great Silk road". During the press conference at Kabar Agency he told about his new project “The Great Silk Road -2017”. He said that Kyrgyzstan is part of the Great Silk Road. "The journey will begin in China, then Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus and Poland. The expedition will begin in May and last till autumn. The expedition members are 12 people, there will be also a writer, photographer and cameraman. We will travel by car," he said. Jacek Pałkiewicz said that the project aims at strengthening social links between people and attract the world's attention to these countries. "In Kyrgyzstan and other countries of the Silk Road, I plan to visit the places marked by UNESCO. We co-operate with them," said the traveler. He also said that the project budget is 500 thousand dollars, the main sponsors are the representatives of China, Poland and Russia. Jacek Pałkiewicz added that in Bishkek, he will meet with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture.
