Fans crowded hotel where Korean Superstar is lodging

BANGKOK, May 7 (TNA) -- Thai fan club of the Korean superstar Song Joong Ki are crowding the hotel where the popular celebrity is staying, as the hotel management team has organised activities for the fans to join in. The fans were asked to register for the activities, as well as to have a chance to take pictures with their most favourite star, as the main actor of the popular Korean series, Descents of the Sun, Joong Ki, is set to get on the stage at Thunder Dome in Muang Thong Thani at 6pm today. The W Bangkok Hotel has been packed since the morning, as Thai fans lined up to catch a glimpse of their favourite Korean superstar, Song Joong Ki, who has become even more famous after taking on the role of an army captain, Yoo Shi-jin, a Korean television series called Descendants of the Sun, aired on South Korea's KBS2 channel. The Korean celebrity is in Bangkok as part of the Song Joong Ki Asia Tour Fan Meeting in Bangkok 2016. At around noon today, the Korean superstar had had a group photo session with his fan club at the W Bangkok Hotel, which comprise not only fans from Thailand but also from China, Hong Kong, and Korea. All of Joong Ki's tickets at the Thunder Dome tonight had already sold out even before the star's arrival to the Thai capital. Not only has the Descendants of the Sun generated the highest rating of 30 per cent in the Korean television industry in four years, the series has also initiated the Descendants of the Sun Syndrome throughout Asia, prompting the #DescendentsOfTheSun hastag to currently dominate the social media world.
