FAO lauds HRH Princess Sirindhorn

BANGKOK, April 13 (TNA) - The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) has praised Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn for her efforts on solving malnutrition and poverty in Thailand and in the region. FAO has complimented the princess while Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Grisada Boonrach attended the 34th FAO Regional Conference for Asia and the Pacific, being held in Nadi in Fiji from April 11 – 13. FAO’s Director Jose Graziano da Silva praised HRH Princess Sirindhorn for her role as FAO Special Ambassador for Zero Hunger in developing nutrition for children and helping the poor. Meanwhile, Mr. Grisada reiterated that the Thai government would eradicate hunger and would cooperate with international community so that solution could be achieved in line with the pledge made by Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha to the U.N. in 2015. He hoped the ongoing conference could help in achieving a world of zero hunger by 2030. (TNA)
