Fast ferry gets hijacked

Fast ferry bound for Golcuk from Izmit gets hijacked, Kocaeli Governor Topaca says. KOCAELI (AA) - November 11, 2011- Governor of the north-western province of Kocaeli, Ercan Topaca, said Friday that a passenger ship bound for Golcuk town from Kocaeli (Izmit) got hijacked. Speaking to the AA, Governor Topaca said that the captain of the ship was taken hostage by an individual. "It is not yet clear if the ship was hijacked by one single individual. There is one person that has taken the captain of the ship as hostage. Security forces began working to save the ship. There are 20 passengers on the ship, including the crew members," Topaca said.
