'Fateh' submarine to join South Naval Fleet late Jan

Tehran, Jan 12, IRNA - Commander of Naval Force of Iran’s Army Admiral Hossein Khanzadi announced that 'Fateh' submarine will join the Southern Naval Fleet on January 29. He told reporters here on Saturday that with final stages of the manufacturing operation of the submarine have been completed, it will join the Southern Naval Fleet on January 29. The Fateh-class submarine is a 527-tonn vessel that is considered as a semi-heavy submarine, its tonnage in below sea level is 593 tons. The submarine, which is superior to Ghadir in terms of operational characteristics, has the ability to move at a depth of 200 meters and dives into a maximum depth of 250 meters. Fateh has the ability to sail for 35 days, which is a remarkable improvement in comparison to Ghadir submarine. The surface speed of Fateh is 11 knots (20.35 km / h) and in submersion is 14 knots (25.9 km / h). The submarine is capable of carrying subterranean missiles, surface-to-air missiles, and also has the ability to carry Ranger forces and deliver them to points of interest.
