Fath Al Kheir Returns, Joins Qatar National Day Celebrations

Doha, December 18 (QNA) - The Fath Al Kheir arrived today at the Katara Cultural Village beach to join the Qatar National Day celebrations, after a 27-day journey to five other GCC countries . The boat was anchored in front of the Emiri podium where the skkiper and the crew members on board of the boat saluted HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, who was attending the military parade, held today to mark Qatar National Day, they also gave a salute to HHthe Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani A large number of people and dignitaries attended the event. The boat had visited Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman and UAE, completing a total of 850 nautical miles on its journey. HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani had graced the Fath Al Kheir departure on November 21, the last day of the Dhow Festival 2013. It was also considered as the highlight of the five-day event participated by more than 100 dhows from different GCC countries. The boat has completed a total of 850 nautical miles on its journey.(QNA)
