Fatlawi: Amnesty Law does not include the recent campaigns detainees, if convicted

Baghdad (NINA) - MP from the Citizen Bloc, Hassoun Al Fatlawi, said "the detainees of the recent campaigns are not included in the amnesty law if found guilty under anti-terrorism law or charges affecting the state’s security." He said in a press statement today "the amnesty would be among the first laws that will be read in Parliament after the end of the break because of public pressure to finish this law," explaining that the law will be active after it is approved by the Presidency directly and will be introduced through the formation of committees of the Appeal commissions to consider the cases and release the included. Fatlawi pointed out to "the Legal Committee has not agreed yet on the final version of the General Amnesty Law and will meet after the legislative break to discuss the law thoroughly to have it drafted as political blocs approve." /End/
