Feasibility study agreement of Khairat Al-Bahrain signed

Khartoum, May 31 (BNA): Undersecretary for Agriculture and Marine Resources, Shaikh Khalifa bin Isa Al Khalifa, has signed in Khartoum with Yam Consulting and Development company an agreement on conducting economic and environment feasibility study of Khairat Al-Bahrain agricultural project to be carried on in Sudan. The signing ceremony was attended by Sudan's Minister of State for Investment Dr. Osama Faisal, Minister of Investment of Northern State Jaafar Abdul Majid, Sudan's ambassador to Bahrain Abdulrahman Khalil and a number of officials. The undersecretary said that the agreement is an important step toward strengthening cooperation between the two countries and vital for achieving Bahrain's sustainable food security. He added highlighted the support provided for the agricultural sector by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the government led by HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier. He explained that the feasibility study aims at determining the quality of strategic crops to be grown in the agricultural project. Yam CEO Dr. Yahiya Abdulmajeed affirmed that the project is among the leading ones in the Arab region and an inspiring step for Arab countries to invest in Sudan.
