Fight against organized crime to be discussed in Minsk

Minsk, August 4, AZERTAC The CIS Executive Committee will host a meeting of the expert group on coordination of a draft of proposed amendments and supplements to the Regulation on Bureau on coordination of the fight against organized crime and other dangerous crimes in the territory of CIS states. The decision to create the Bureau was adopted by the heads of CIS governments in 1993. Bureau on coordination of the fight against organized crime is a permanent body to ensure the effective collaboration of the ministries of internal affairs of CIS member states in the fight against organized crime, terrorism, illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances and other dangerous crimes. The bureau promotes preparation and carrying out of operatively-search actions and complex operations in the implementation of inter-state investigation and extradition of persons hiding from criminal prosecution or execution of the sentence. The organization develops a specialized data bank of criminal leaders, organizers and active participants of international criminal organizations and their criminal connections. Upon request or on its own initiative, the organization provides relevant information the Interior Ministries of the CIS countries.
