The event was jointly organized by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Policies, Education and Sciences, the Standing Committee on Justice, the Parliamentary Group of Women Members, the Justice Ministry together with the Anti-Violence Center. Some changes have included in a newly developed revision of the existing domestic violence law which was deemed insufficient for several reasons, including a lack of deterrence, inadequate victim protection, and the lack of legislation, said a Justice Ministry official G.Oyunbold. ‘The revision has great importance in domestic violence detention, victim protection and considering domestic violence as a crime’. According to the revised law, detention of domestic violence will be responsibility imposed not only to the police but also to medics and social workers.
