Final rehearsal for funeral procession of late Supreme Patriarch

BANGKOK, Dec 10 (TNA) - Several downtown road in the Thai capital are closed for about two hours Thursday during the final rehearsal for funeral procession of the late Supreme Patriarch Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara. The final funeral rehearsal of the late Thai Buddhist monk leader began at 8.00 a.m. when the procession started from Wat Bowon Niwet Vihara to the crematorium at Wat Debsirindrawas. The 3.6-kilometre procession route takes about two hours. A senior monk at Wat Bowon Niwet Vihara said preparations for the procession were 100 per cent complete and there would not be a problem to change the urn to a small one to facilitate the procession to move pass below flyover bridges as the City Hall had improve the road surface. The royal cremation ceremony for the late Supreme Patriarch will be held next Wednesday. (TNA)
