Final Report On Malaysia's Fisheries Department-Norway Cooperation To Be Finalised By Year-End

PUTRAJAYA (Malaysia), Nov 15 (Bernama) -- The final report on the cooperation between the Fisheries Department of Malaysia and Norway on the development of the fishing industry will be completed after the project is finalised at year-end. In a statement issued here Tuesday, the Fisheries Department said Malaysia had signed an agreement for the cooperation between Malaysia and Norway to contribute to the Regulatory Framework for Aquaculture beginning 2012 to this year. "The cooperation between Malaysia and Norway is aimed at developing the national fisheries and agro-food industry as well as enhancing two-way collaboration between the two countries. "A final report on the whole project will be completed after it ends this year," it said. The statement also said activities under the project included a draft of the aquaculture methods and Fisheries Department officials completing their students in the field of fish health. It added that the department's officials were sent to undergo attachment in Norway from 2013, and so far, two staff had completed their training sessions. --BERNAMA
