Finnish MP voices support for Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity

Baku, January 10 (AzerTAc). Head of Finland`s delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Ilkka Kanerva, has said his country supported Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity. Commenting on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, he said: “We back Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity and want the dispute to be solved peacefully.” “We are in a constant contact with the OSCE Baku Office to receive updates on the peace talks to solve the problem.” Kanerva added: “We are against protracted conflicts in the region. This is why we will try our best to ensure the conflict`s resolution.” He stressed Azerbaijan`s importance, saying the country was a reliable partner both in terms of energy cooperation and thanks to its geographical location. “Azerbaijan is a very important country not only to Finland but also to the whole Europe,” Kanerva said. The Finnish MP expressed his country`s interest in expanding the bilateral cooperation with Azerbaijan. “We want to deepen our cooperation with Azerbaijan in all fields. Today we have very good relations in the political and economic fields. But we cannot be satisfied with this, and we want to expand the scope of our cooperation,” he added.
