Fire at Turkey oil pipeline extinguished

SIRNAK (AA) - April 5, 2012 - Firefighters put out completely a blaze Thursday that hit an oil pipeline from Iraq to Turkey's Mediterranean coast, officials said. Fire that broke out at three separate spots of the Kerkuk-Yumurtralik pipeline that near Idil town of Turkey's southeastern province of Sirnak was caused by terrorist sabotage, said an official with the Sirnak governor's office.   The fire brought oil flow through the pipeline to a halt. Efforts were underway to repair the damage. There was no immediate word on when the oil flow might resume.  The pipeline was the target of a similar attack by PKK terrorists two years ago which killed two people and injured another.
