First electric bus to be on test run in Bangkok

BANGKOK, May 21 (TNA) - The state-run Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA), in cooperation with the private sector, will conduct a test run of Thailand's first electric passenger bus in Bangkok next month. BMTA and LOXLEY Public Company Limited (LOXLEY), one of Thailand's biggest transport and computer businesses, have signed an agreement on conducting the trial run of the first electric bus on Bangkok's routes. During the test run of the 12-meter, 29-seat electric bus for 18 days in June, passengers will be offered their free rides, with service dates including June 2-5, 8-11 and 15-19 from 9am to 3pm. Parties concerned will gather public feedback and other relevant information for an analytical assessment of both strength and weakness of the first-ever electric bus service in the capital. Service details during the trial run of the first electric bus include:Bus No. 511 from the That Thong Temple to Pratunam, Bus No. 141 from Chulalongkorn University to Pho Thong Market and Bus No.63 from Khae-rai to the Victory Monument.
