First vice president: Country is not in stalemate

Tehran, Aug 18, IRNA – The First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri said on Saturday that Iran experiences a very significant situation in terms of economic development but it does not imply that it faces a stalemate. Speaking to reporters during a tour of the Islamic Republic News agency (IRNA) , Jahangiri said, 'This does not mean, however, that we are facing a stalemate; We do not lie even in a critical condition.' He reiterated that it is because of the fact that the country enjoys immense and distinctive capabilities, namely natural resources, manpower, culture and a very glorious civilization. 'We believe that the country's cultural capabilities and its great civilization serve as a good backing for our nation,' he said. Iran is number one in terms of oil and gas resources, ten in terms of natural resources, minerals and ferrous materials and geographically is very wide, bridging Persian Gulf and the Middle East, he said.
