Five police officers transferred after massage parlour raid

BANGKOK, Jan 14 (TNA) - Five high-ranking police officers have been transferred following a police raid on a massage parlour in Bangkok’s Rama 9 areas on Friday. Metropolitan Police Chief Pol Lt Gen Charnthep Sesawej signed the order transferring five senior police officers attached to Bangkok’s Wang Thonglang police station after the police raid on Friday. The order becomes effective immediately. A total of 113 women, rescued in the raid include 96 from Myanmar, 11 from Laos, two from China and four Thais. They are being interrogated and are, according to police, initially victims, forced into prostitution. The police expect to complete verification of their ages today. Meanwhile, the court rejects bail application of Boonsap Amornratanasiri, arrested inside the premises. He is believed to be the chief supervisor and allegedly involved in human trafficking. Six suspects working at the massage parlour are being detained. They are charges with establishment of a brothel, engaging in sex trade business and allowing foreigners to stay in the country illegally. (TNA)
