FKO-368 Warship Returns From Lebanon

Surabaya, E Java, Dec 26 (Antara) -- Indonesia`s Frans Kaisiepo-368 (FKO-368) warship returned to the Eastern Fleet Command base here on Wednesday after completing its task in the United Nations` peacekeeping mission in Lebanon for 10 months. Chief Of Staff of the Eastern Fleet Command Headquarters (Koarmatim) Commodore Aan Kurnia, representing Eastern Fleet Commander Rear Admiral Arie Henrycus Sembiring Meliala, welcomed the arrival of FKO-368 warship, Head of the Eastern Fleet Information Office Lt. Col. Maman Sulaeman said here on Thursday. Commanded by Marine Lt. Col.Ade Nanno Suwardi, the warship was on a mission with the Maritime Military Task Force Garuda Contingent (Konga) XXVIII-F/UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) in 2014. FKO-368, which departed from Koarmatim on February 21, joined navy warships of other countries in the Maritime Task Force (MTF) in the waters of Lebanon. "This is FKO-368`s second mission, following its success in its first mission last year," Sulaeman stated. In carrying out its task, FKO-368 transported the BO-105 helicopter from Naval Aviation Center, Juanda. Furthermore, the MTF included 100 soldiers, comprising 88 warship crew members, helicopter pilots and a crew of seven persons, doctors, a command of frogmen, divers, an intelligence officer, and an information officer.
