Flights between Iran, Afghanistan to rise to 30 per week

Tehran, Aug 7, IRNA – Iran and Afghanistan have plans to gradually raise flights between the two countries to 30 flights a week, Head of Civil Aviation Organization of Iran Ali Abedzadeh said on Tuesday. At present, nine flights are operating each week between Iran and Afghanistan on average, Abedzadeh said. During a recent visit to Tehran by Afghan Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Hamid Tahmasi, the two sides called for increasing the capacity of weekly flights between Iran and Afghanistan, he added. Abedzadeh said that the increase of flights between Iran and Afghanistan would be a gradual procedure that would take some years.
