Flood in Trang expected to return to normal next week

TRANG, Dec 12 (TNA) - The overall flooding situation in the southern province of Trang has been improved with only two districts still under floodwater. An official of the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation bureau in Trang said severe flooding has devastated Trang since December4 and eight provincial districts were affected, causing one death and hardships to more than 46,000 villagers. Presently, Trang’s Muang and Kantang districts are still under floodwater. The Muang district remains under one metre of water, forcing more than 100 families to evacuate to a temporary shelter at a Buddhist temple. Villagers in Kantang district are now suffering from flooding, said the official, adding that flooding situation is expected to ease next week.(TNA)
