Floods disrupt train services in Thai South

NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, THAILAND, November 23 (TNA) - Heavy floods in several areas in the Thai South from Prachuap Khiri Khan Province downward, caused by torrential downpours since early this week, have disrupted far southern-bound train services. The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) announced on Saturday that all trains heading to the Thai far South have temporarily stopped at Tung Song station in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province until the flooding situation improves, saying that sections of the southern raillines have been submerged by at least 20 centimetres of floodwater. According to the SRT announcement, all passengers who are unable to make their trips can ask for a refund for their tickers at every train station nationwide, or call the SRT PR hotline, 1690, for more information.
