FM condoles India on former president

Manama, July 29 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, on Wednesday visited the Embassy of the Republic of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain, where he conveyed the sincere condolences of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, on the death of the former President of the Republic of India, Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, asking God to grant the deceased eternal peace. The Minister of Foreign Affairs recalled the outstanding role and great contributions of the deceased in the development of the security and defence capabilities of his country and the progress and development in the Republic of India in various fields. This is in addition to his tangible role in bolstering cooperation and consolidating relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain as well as his keenness to support Arab and Muslim issues in various regional and international gatherings, affirming that this backing will continue to be appreciated by the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his appreciation for the role of the Indian community and its contributions to the development process in the Kingdom of Bahrain, wishing the Republic of India further progress and prosperity.
