Followers of religions have peaceful life in Iran: Assyrians MP

Tehran, April 14, IRNA – Assyrians MP said on Sunday that Iran’s Constitution has recognized divine faiths of Christianity, Judaism and Zoroastrianism whose followers are living together in the country friendly and peacefully. In a meeting with the Austrian and Swiss women activists, Yunaten Bet Kelia referred to the ancient and historic living of Abrahamic religions’ followers alongside Muslim brothers and said that various tribes, religions have all the time had peaceful coexistence in Iran in the course of history. Elsewhere in his speech, he added that based on an edict by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, blood money of a non-Muslim equals to that of a Muslim. Meanwhile, the MPs of Iran’s southern and northern Armenians and Zoroastrians attended the meeting and discussed the status and situation of religious minorities in Iran.
