Foreign countries willing to buy South Pars products: Official

Tehran, Jan 26, IRNA – A senior official of Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ) Rahimi said here on Monday that so far several foreign countries have voiced their willingness to purchase the products of this region. Talking to IRNA, director general of PSEEZ customs department Khodadad Rahimi added that China, Ukraine, Russia, UAE, India, Turkey, Iraq, Taiwan, Malaysia, Armenia, Mozambique, Egypt, Qatar, Tanzania, The Philippines, Azerbaijan, Georgia, South Korea and Mexico have voiced their willingness to purchase the PSEEZ products. Some 900,490 tons of non-oil products, worth over $734.6m, were exported from the PSEEZ in the month of Dey (December/January), he added. Rahimi said the figures show a 57 and 84 percent increases in terms of value and weight, respectively, compared to the corresponding period last year. Rahimi underlined that the commodities were mainly exported to China, Japan, UAE, India, Turkey, Iraq, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Armenia, Russia, Mozambique, Egypt, Syria, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Qatar, Tanzania, Philippines, Ghana, Kenya, Azerbaijan, Georgia, South Korea and Mexico. South Pars, which Iran shares with Qatar in the Persian Gulf, is estimated to contain 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of gas condensates.
