Foreign investment amounting Bt239m in Thailand

BANGKOK, January 27 (TNA) - A total of 30 foreign business operators with a combined investment of 239 million baht have invested in Thailand in January this year alone, an increase of 3 per cent in terms of number of investors; while the amount of investment is up 24 per cent compared to the same period of 2012. Ittipol Changlum , Deputy Director-General the Ministry of Commerce's Department of Business Development, told reporters of the development on Saturday, assessing that the foreign investment in January this year should employ 234 Thai workers. Out of the total foreign investors, 18 with combined investment of 203 million baht have invested in their subsidiary firms involving in money lending, accounting and rental services; while the remaining 12 foreign investors with combined investment of 36 million baht will be engaged in goods advisory service. A total of 3,247 foreign investors with combined investment of about 164.3 billion baht have invested in the Kingdom since Thailand’s alien business law was enforced in March 2000. (TNA)
