Foreign Minister Anifah Holds Talks With Indonesian Counterpart

By Nashir Mansor KOTA KINABALU (Sabah, Malaysia), Jan 26 (Bernama) -- Foreign Minister Anifah Aman (right) and his Indonesian counterpart Retno Marsudi (left) held a bilateral meeting here Monday. The meeting, which lasted about an hour, was held at the Le Meridien Hotel. The Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia, Herman Prayitno, and senior officials from both countries also attended the meeting. Retno is on an official visit to Malaysia for two days from Sunday prior to her attending the ASEAN Foreign Ministers Retreat here on Jan 27 and 28. This is Retno's first visit to Malaysia after her appointment as the Foreign Minister of Indonesia on Oct 27 last year. Wisma Putra (Foreign Affairs Ministry), in a statement Sunday, said the visit would provide an excellent opportunity for both ministers to exchange views and discuss bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest, with a view to further strengthening the existing bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various areas.
