Foreign Minister Meets British Ambassador To Iraq

BAGHDAD / NINA / Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ibrahim al-Jaafari discussed with the British ambassador to Iraq, Frank Baker bilateral relations and ways of developing them. A statement by Jaafari's Office said "the two sides discussed the overall security and political situation, taking place in the Iraqi arena, and efforts in the war against Daash." The statement quoted al-Jaafari as he confirmed "Iraq's desire to support relations with Britain, and enhance them to benefit from the experience and capabilities, and increase the volume of investment for the benefit of the two friendly countries," adding that "the risk of gangs of Daash makes security strategy and military support jump to the level of priorities in building cooperation between Iraq and other countries of the world. " The statement added "The terrorists Daash profaned cities, countries, and continents in the world, which requires concerted international efforts to address this challenge which threatens humanity." Jaafari congratulated the British people "on the occasion of the success of the electoral season, wishing success to Prime Minister David Cameron and Foreign Minister Philip Hammond in their tasks."
