Foreign Ministry honored with Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award for Volunteer Work

Manama, Sept. 28 (BNA): Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa has commended the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Cabinet Affairs Undersecretary and Honorary President of the Good Word Society, in supporting and patronizing various voluntary initiatives and practices carried out by individuals and institutions in Bahrain. Addressing the closing ceremony of the 10th edition of HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award for volunteer work to honor frontline Bahrainis who made outstanding contributions in mitigating the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19), Dr. Shaikha Rana praised the Good Word Society in advancing institutional volunteer work through Bahrainis aware of the importance of volunteerism. Dr. Shaikha Rana expressed delight with the honor bestowed on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other institutions, saying that the ceremony marked ten years of the award as an important annual milestone in social and volunteer work that contributed to strengthening Bahrain's efforts in community solidarity at the regional level. She stressed her pride in the foreign ministry's national duty in embodying the visions of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the wisdom of HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister and the aspirations of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. Dr. Shaikha Rana highlighted the clear and tangible role of the ministry’s departments and diplomatic missions abroad during the exceptional times imposed by COVID-19 during which the ministry confirmed that serving Bahrain and Bahrainis and the safety of residents are a priority in all circumstances. She explained that the current unprecedented challenges across the world are an opportunity to show various forms of responsible patriotism and to intensify efforts and determination to continue work and renew commitment. She stressed that Bahrain has always been a pioneer in the fields of community service and volunteer work as well as a leader in its remarkable stances and achievements, starting with the leadership of HM the King and including its public and private sectors, civil society institutions and civil associations. The award is the result of a long series of successes, she added. Dr. Shaikha Rana thanked HH Shaikh Isa and The Good Word for the award, stressing it would motivate further the spread of noble human values and social progress through unique volunteer work.
