Foreigners:Executive decree has not seriously affected plans to visit Thailand

BANGKOK, March 6 (TNA) - A latest survey showed that most foreign travelers saw the executive decree, having enforces in all areas in Bangkok and some targeted areas in neighbouring provinces by Thailand's caretaker government to contain anti-government protests, did not seriously affect their decisions on visiting the Thai Kingdom. The survey on "foreigners' trip to Thailand during ongoing political protests", conducted by Bangkok University's Research Centre on the random basis with its results released on Thursday, found that 84.4 per cent of 1,094 respondents considered the executive decree had slight impact on their decisions to visit Thailand. Most of the respondents, as high as 96.4 per cent, knew about the political protests in Thailand prior to their visits to the Kingdom and 33.8 per cent of them were determined to travel to the country anyway because the Kingdom has tourist destinations they really wanted to have their own personal touches. Most of the respondents, or 89.9 per cent of them, said they would visit Thailand again and 94.6 per cent said they would recommend their friends and families to visit Thailand, while 61.5 per cent of them echoed they considered that protest areas were not as violent as some might have feared.
