Forestry Minister To Cut Rp605 Billion Of Its Budget

Jakarta, March 13 (ANTARA) - The Forestry Ministry will cut Rp605.6 billion of its budget to support fuel oil subsidy, a minister said. "Although the forestry ministry`s budget is small, we will cut it by 10 percent in order to support fuel oil subsidy," Forestry Minister Zulkifli Hasan told a House of Representatives hearing here on Monday. The forestry ministry will cut its budget to support fuel oil subsidy as a follow up of the finance minister`s decision on the 2012 budget cut. With the budget deduction, the forestry ministry`s budget allocation will be reduced from the previous Rp6.323 trillion to Rp5.627 trillion. The budget cut will be taken from several budget posts such as programs to support management, technical task implementation, supervision of apparatus accountability, forestry business unit, and water shed area development unit. "We do not cut our budget for national priority programs such as the program for the planting of one billion trees," the minister said.
