Former Secretary General Of Energy Ministry In KPK Custody

Jakarta, Dec 19 (Antara) - The Corruption Eradication Commission on Thursday finally sent former secretary general of the energy and mineral resources ministry Waryono Karno to a detention center after long named a suspect in corruption case. Waryono, who was grilled for 9 hours, is charged with embezzling fund for the procurement of sports bicycles, maintenance of the building of the ministry secretariat general office and socialization activities. KPK spokesman Johan Budi said the state suffered a loss of Rp11 billion in the embezzlement case. Johan Budi said KPK did not rule out the possibility more suspects in the case. Waryono, who was named a suspect in the case on May 7, 2014 is facing a maximum sentence of 20 years` imprisonment with a fine of up to Rp1 billion. Earlier Waryono was already named a suspect in a graft case in which he is also facing a maximum jail term of 20 years and a fine of up to Rp1 billion He was involved in the graft case of former head of the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulator (BP Migas) Rudi Rubiandini , who is already serving a jail term of 7 years.
