Four European countries join Pattaya fireworks festival

PATTAYA, November 29 (TNA) - Thousands of tourists have joined the annual Pattaya international firework festival in this popular seaside city of Chonburi province, which was officially opened on Friday night. Organised for the third consecutive year, this year’s Pattaya International Firework Festival is joined by the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Spain. The European countries have supplied beautiful fireworks which will be displayed above a Pattaya seascape. The two-day event, whin runs through Saturday, is expected to draw more than 200,000 and generate some 300 million baht in circulation in Pattaya, according to City Mayor Ittipon Khun Pluem. Highlight of the festival is a 45-minute non-stop firework show scheduled on Saturday night. The festival is co-organised by Pattaya Council and Thai Life Insurance. Pattaya municipal authorities have closed roads along the beach for safety of local people and tourists witnessing the beauty of the pyrotechnic display. Spectators can also buy goods being sold along the road. (TNA)
