Four more Asian records for Vietnam

Hanoi, November 25 (VNA) - The Asian Records Organisation granted four Asian records to Vietnamese units and individuals at a convocation between Vietnamese record holders and those from some Asian nations held in Ho Chi Minh City on November 22. The new Asian records include the largest Buddhist flag made of steamed glutinous rice by the Binh Tay Food Company, the largest collection of weird-looking stamps owned by Han Tan Quang, and the largest Buddha statue made of “nu nghien”, a rare kind of wood, of Nguyen Xuan Hoa. Huynh Van Rang was honoured as the elder person who has conquered the Fansipan peak for four times. Also at the get-together, the World Records University conferred honorary doctorate degrees on seven individuals for their outstanding record registrations. Among the awardees were veteran composer Vu Dinh An, who registered the longest “Truyen Kieu” (Kieu’s Tale) and Luc Van Tien choruses, and Duong Duy Lam Vien, CEO of the Vietnam Book of Records (Vietkings), for his project, “Creating 25 Copyrights for the Quest of Promoting Vietnamese Values to the World.” The organising board also granted certificates to 39 new Vietnamese records in various fields, including documentary film, collection, book, photography, martial arts and medicine, raising the total number of Vietnamese records to 1,630. On the occasion, the top 45 attractive destinations in Vietnam were also announced, including the top 10 destinations for spiritual tourism, the top five caves with mysterious beauty, the top five ancient temples of literature, the top 10 attractive museums, the top 10 sea tourism landscapes and the top five ancient villages.-VNA
