Free vaccination for influenza

BANGKOK, May 1 (TNA) - The National Health Security Office has cooperated with the Public Health Ministry’s Disease Control Department in providing free 3.5 million doses of vaccination treating influenza to the people from May 1 to July 31 at state-run hospitals and at private hospitals which have joined the National Health Security Programme. Dr. Chuchai Sornchamni, assistant to secretary-general of the National Health Security Office, said his office has allocated more than 350 million baht to buy 3.1 million doses of vaccine treating influenza. Four groups of patient will be entitled to receive free vaccination. The four groups are women who have more than four-month-old of pregnancy, children aged from 6 months to two years, people who carry seven chronic diseases and people aged over 65 Also, the Disease Control Department has prepared 400,000 doses of vaccination for the ministry’s health officials, vulnerable to contracting influenza.
