FREIGHT AND PASSENGERS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ In the first nine months of 2012, 15,014.7 thousand tons freight and 3,037.6 thousand passengers (double counting) were carried by railway transport. Compared to same period of the previous year, the number of carried freight rose by 1,545.7 thousand tons or 11.5 percent, and the number of carried passengers rose by 162.5 thousand persons, or 5.7 percent. This increased a revenue by 24.7 billion MNT or 8.6 percent to 313.1 billion MNT. In the first nine months of 2012, 3,061.5 tons freight and 590.9 thousand passengers (double counting) were carried by air transport. A number of carried freight increased by 1,159.7 tons or 61.0 percent, of carried passengers rose by 161.0 thousand persons or 37.4 percent. Due to this, revenue from thus sector went up by 18.5 billion MNT or 14.9 percent to 142.8 billion MNT in the first nine months of 2012. Ch.Enkhtuya
