French Parliamentary Delegation Calls On Malaysian Ronald Kiandee

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 1 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's House of Representatives (Dewan Rakyat) deputy speaker Dr Ronald Kiandee Tuesday received French Senate's Foreign Affairs, Defence and Armed Forces Committee chairman, Jean-Pierre Raffarin. Also in attendance were chairman of the National Assembly's Defence and Armed Forces Committee, Patricia Adam as well as eight other members of the French parliament. Speaking to reporters after the hour-long closed-door meeting, Kiandee said they exchanged views on security and defence issues. "They also showed appreciation that some of our military equipment have been procured from France," he said. Kiandee said the French delegation was also briefed on the functions of the Malaysian parliament. -- BERNAMA
