GCC honour for Bahraini Attorney General

Doha, Oct. 13 (BNA): Public Prosecutors, Attorneys General and Heads of public investigation bodies in the GCC countries held their 9th meeting in Doha on October 10 and 11, in the presence of GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani. They discussed key issues and approved many recommendations including exchanging prosecutors among the GCC countries, making it possible for them to serve in any of the GCC member states, as well as handing over suspects accused of crimes to their homelands for trial. An Award of Excellence for members of the GCC Public Prosecutions and investigation bodies has also been named after former Kuwaiti Attorney General Hamid Al-Othman. It has become known as "The Hamid Al-Othman Award of Excellence for Members of the GCC Public Prosecutions and Investigation Bodies". The award was conferred on Bahraini Attorney General Wael Buallay in recognition of his outstanding performance and wealth of experience in the judicial field. Public Prosecutor Dr. Ali bin Fadhel Al-Buainin praised in his speech the GCC unflinching cooperation to develop their judicial systems and ensure the best enforcement of laws, underlining the efforts made to remove hardships hindering judicial work.
