Gender theme group meeting to run

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A gender theme Group meeting in 2015 titled “Community of Practice: towards substantive Gender Equality Results” will be held on May 6, 2015in the UN House. Last year, the GTG meeting held in October provided a platform for information sharing and mapping the gender activities among the extended group. This year, the meeting will take one step further with more substantive and practical discussion as a community of practice. The meeting has two segments. First, given ‘gender mainstreaming’ is a universal mandate as well as a challenge to almost all development agencies as well as the Government, the meeting intends to share and discuss experiences of gender mainstreaming practices of UN, Bilateral Development Agencies and the Government of Mongolia with lessons learned and practical recommendations. Secondly, Asia-Pacific counties’ experiences in operationalizing the Gender Equality Law will be presented by Ms Imrana Jalal, Senior Gender Specialist of ADB with insightful implications to Mongolia’s current implementation of Gender Equality Law.
