General Authority of Customs Chairman Meets Indian Ambassador

Doha, April 28 (QNA) - Chairman of the General Authority of Customs Ahmed bin Ali Al Mohannadi met with HE India's Ambassador to Qatar Sanjiv Arora. During the meeting, they discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the field of customs as well as issues relating to customs affairs and customs role in protecting the internal security of the country and facilitating foreign trade. They also discussed ways to promote trade between the countries and the role of government agencies operating at the points of entry in accelerating economic growth. The two sides underlined the importance of developing customs human resources, and modernizing clearance operations and procedures as well as cargo and goods inspection systems among others. They reviewed figures and statistics related to the work of customs in both countries. (QNA)
