Georgian, U.S presidents to discuss bilateral cooperation

Georgia, Tbilisi, Jan.30/ Trend N. Kirtskhalia / U.S. President Barack Obama and his Georgian counterpart Mikheil Saakashvili will meet in Washington on Monday, Georgian presidential press service reported. "The two presidents will discuss issues of further strengthening of the U.S.-Georgia Charter on Strategic Partnership through the development of cooperation in trade, tourism, energy, science, education, culture and security," the report says. According to the White House's report, Obama will emphasize the importance of the U.S.-Georgian defense cooperation, including Georgia's significant contribution to international security operations in Afghanistan. The U.S. President will reaffirm support for Georgia's territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders. According to the report, Obama also hopes to discuss the upcoming elections in Georgia and the reforms that "will ensure the country's continued transformation into dynamic and stable democratic state".
