German court in favor of Iranian banks

Tehran, Dec 1, IRNA – In a preliminary ruling, a Hamburg court has asked the Deutsche Telekom to reactivate telephone and internet services for Iranian banks headquartered in the country, according to German media. The city court in Hamburg investigated the complaint filed by Iranian banks and voted in their favor on Friday, Deutsche Welle wrote on its website. The ruling requires German telecom company (Telekom) to resume providing telephone and internet services to three Hamburg-based Iranian banks namely Bank Melli, Bank Sepah and the European-Iranian Trade Bank. In mid-November, the German telecom company stopped to provide phone and internet services to Iranian banks based in the country. The company had told Iran's Bank Melli it believes, following US sanctions against Iran, Iranian banks will no longer be able to pay their phone and internet bills. Follow us on Twitter @IrnaEnglish
