Germany deepens cooperation with royal Thai school

BANGKOK, September 11 (TNA) - Germany is further deepening its cooperation with royally-founded Chitralada School in Bangkok by granting a 3.6-million-baht financial assistance to support the school's Power Electricity Training Unit. According to a press release issued by the German Embassy in Bangkok on Wednesday, the grant will be used to provide technical equipment for the school's Power Electricity Training Unit so that practical training of students can be enhanced. German Ambassador to Thailand H.E. Rolf Schulze and Manager and Director of Chitralada School Thanpuying Angkab Punyashthiti will formalize the grant in an official ceremony held at the German Embassy to Thailand on September 19, which is part of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on education cooperation between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Kingdom of Thailand signed last year. The cooperation with Chitralada School underlines the importance both the German and Thai governments attach to the development and promotion of vocational studies in order to train skilled labour to meet industrial demands. The growing vocational section of Chitralada School was established in 2004 through the initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to foster the education of skilled labour. It now offers such fields of study as Business Computer, Retail Management, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automotives, Food and Nutrition and Electrical Work in Vocational Education Certificates and Higher Diploma Levels. The school's Power Electricity Training Unit, itself, serves as a training space for students to adapt the theoretical lessons into practical implementation. (TNA)
