Germany finances capacity building for school in Thai North

BANGKOK, November 26 (TNA) - The German government has supported capacity building of a school in the Thai North, where demand for German education has been rising. For the purpose, German Ambassador to Thailand Rolf Schulze handed over a symbolic cheque, worth 26 million baht, to the targeted school, Christian German School, in Chiang Mai Province on Tuesday. The German top envoy to Thailand said the number of Germans in Chiang Mai has been growing over the past years, as Chiang Mai has become an attractive destination for German tourists and their families, resulting in rising demand for German classes. The German financial support will be used to build more classrooms, a new school library and an administrative centre. Christian German School in Chiang Mai, founded in 1994, is one of nine schools in Southeast Asia financially-supported by the German government, aimed to provide high-quality German education to German-speaking children in the Thai North.(TNA)
