GOIC to Host Technical Committee's Meeting to Discuss GCC Non-Oil Exports Strategy

Doha, August 03 (QNA) - The Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting ( GOIC ) will host the meeting of the technical committee at its headquarters in Doha on the 4th and 5th of August 2015. The Secretariat-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council had convened this meeting of GCC members of the technical committee in charge of the execution of the strategy. According to a GOIC statement, participants will discuss the general framework document and the strategic plan for the development of GCC non-oil industrial exports (2016-2030). The meeting will include a presentation of the strategy, followed by a discussion of the previous suggestions and remarks of specialised country representatives and experts. This meeting comes after a series of meetings that had previously discussed three stages of the strategy preparation project. The objectives of the strategy are: offering an accurate diagnosis of the GCC non-oil industrial exports performance and these industries' ecosystem and challenges, means to boost the growth of these exports during a specific period of time, how to benefit from global trade rules to support these exports and how to learn from international success stories in boosting industrial exports. The strategy also allows for benefiting from GCC integration to promote the growth of these exports, boost trade between GCC countries and use the negotiation power of the GCC bloc to increase the accessibility of Gulf non-oil industrial exports to the markets of key partners throughout the globe.
