GOIC Publishes 113th Issue of "Industrial Cooperation in the Arabian Gulf"

Doha, July 28 (QNA) - The Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) put out the 113th issue of the "Industrial Cooperation in the Arabian Gulf" Magazine in which GOIC Secretary General Mr. Abdulaziz bin Hamad Al-Ageel wrote "GOIC Promotes the Gulf Industrial Sector". In his note, Al-Ageel highlights GOIC's efforts to carry out many activities and events that have a major impact on the industrial sector. GOIC seeks to support the GCC industrial sector and achieve economic development in the Gulf. It is in this context that the 15th Industrialists Conference "Direct Foreign Investments: their Impact on Gulf Industries" will be held in November 2015 with the participation of GCC ministers of industry. Al-Ageel stresses that GOIC continues to raise awareness in the Gulf industrial sector. He mentions that GOIC, in collaboration with Qatar's Ministry of Environment, the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) and GULFMET, is organizing the First Gulf Metrology Forum in Doha in December 2015. Through this event, experts hope to shed light on the importance of metrology in guaranteeing industrial development in GCC countries. Furthermore, GOIC and ICIS are organizing the first Middle East Surfactants Summit in Qatar in October 2015. Al-Ageel concluded by reaffirming GOICs unequivocal commitment to promote economic and industrial development and reinforce cooperation and partnership between the private and public sectors in the region in the areas of industrial investments and economic integration, in light of the developments of globaliztion and international trade to best serve and boost GCC economies. This issue features a dossier on the 15th Industrialists' Conference, its themes and sessions, in addition to an industrial report about GCC manufacturing industries. The report reveals that Saudi Arabia is ranked first in terms of size of investments (55.3 percent), while Qatar is ranked second (21.7 percent), followed by the UAE (9.1 percent), Oman (6.2 percent), Kuwait (5.1 percent) and Bahrain (2.7 percent). Furthermore, Saudi Arabia is ranked first in terms of number of factories (41.8 percent), UAE second (34.5 percent), followed by Oman (9.6 percent), Bahrain (4.8 percent), Qatar (4.7 percent) and Kuwait (4.6 percent). The issue also includes an interview with Fahad Rashid Al-Ibrahim, director general of the Arab Investment and Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (Dhaman) in which he explains the Corporations activities and objectives and gives an overview of more than 40 years of the corporation's history. Editor-in-Chief Abir Adel Jaber wrote "GOIC A Strong Network of Global Industrial Relations". In this article, she highlights GOIC's endeavors to sign several agreements and memorandums of understanding aiming at facilitating cooperation and coordination in the industrial field, particularly in the area of consulting and exchange of expertise. The Organization also seeks to create strategic alliances and constructive partnerships. Mrs. Jaber explains that since its foundation, GOIC has worked to support and prepare GCC countries to interact and adapt with global economic and industrial changes, and to benefit from international experiences to boost the industrial sector and achieve sustainable development, hence improving GCC economies. Moreover, GOIC spares no effort to continue to conduct alliances and agreements and take part in organizing specialized conferences, study groups and roundtable discussions in collaboration with various international and Gulf parties and in cooperation with experts, research centers and knowledge hubs in a variety of industrial fields. GOIC's ultimate objective is to continue to move forward towards a brighter future for the GCC industrial sector to compete with advanced countries. In addition, this issue includes several articles such as "Gulf Sovereign Wealth Funds... Savings and Investments" by Saeed Khalil Al-Absi, "GCC Energy Efficiency" by Dr. Nozad Al-Hiti and an article written in English by Engineer Ismael El-Shafei about soap and detergent industries in the Gulf. The issue also features a report on "Invest in Qatar 2015" Forum co-organized by GOIC, Qatar's Ministry of Energy and Industry and Manateq at the St. Regis Doha, Qatar on the 27th and 28th of April 2015. The Forum shed light on investment opportunities prepared by GOIC for the State of Qatar in promising industrial fields like pharmaceuticals, green building materials, recycling, petrochemicals and aluminum to strengthen Qatars competitiveness in the region and abroad. Furthermore, this issue includes a summary of an industrial investment opportunity about a project to produce frozen potato fingers and the Magazines standard sections such as "GOIC News", "Upcoming Industrial Events", "Industrial Sector News" and specialized training workshops offered by GOIC in 2015 under the Training and Capacity Development Program (TCD) to develop the capacities of workers in the industrial sector in GCC countries and Yemen, in addition to other topics. The Industrial Cooperation in the Arabian Gulf magazine is a quarterly periodical issued by GOIC. It features articles about GCC industrial and economic trends and new technologies. The magazine also tackles different economic topics including brief and in-depth analyses concerning the current economic and industrial circumstances. Furthermore, it includes reports about the industrial sector in the Gulf and challenges to new industries in particular. In addition to that, it features summaries about relevant industrial, economic and financial topics and articles regarding the current industrial ecosystem, industrial statistics with forecasts, industrial data and information technologies and industrial management.
