Good luck meals to be served on THAI flights during Chinese New Year

BANGKOK, February 2 (TNA) - Thai Airways International (THAI), the national flag carrier, will offer good luck meals to international passengers in all classes of its flights during the upcoming Chinese New Year festival. Teerapol Chotichanapibal, THAI Executive Vice President for Product and Customer Services, announced Saturday that the special meals will be served on THAI’s flights from Bangkok to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Taipei, and six other destinations in mainland China from February 10-13, representing the national airline’s Chinese New Year blessing to its customers. Teerapol told journalists that dinner and lunch meals for THAI's Royal First Class and Royal Silk Class passengers are smoked salmon with crab meat roll, delightfully-braised chicken thigh seasoned by eight types of spices served with steamed rice, and tangerines presented in a red gift bag; while those travelling in Economy Class are to be served with smoked salmon with crab meat roll, braised chicken thigh seasoned by eight types of spices served with steamed rice and Thai dessert “Loog Choup”. According to the THAI vice president, the inflight good luck meals will be made from finest and auspicious ingredients with salmon symboling abundance, chicken symboling work success and tangerine symboling prosperity. Meanwhile, pork prices in Thailand have increased over the past two weeks, boosted by rising market demand in the light of the Chinese New Year festival 2013 next weekend; while pork supply has dropped due to outbreaks of swine diseases, which occurred during Ocotber-December last year.
