Gorgan to hold nat'l confab on Ahl al-Bayt (AS) poetry

Gorgan, Golestan Prov., Dec 7, IRNA - The 2nd National congress of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) poetry will be held in in Gorgan, capital of Golestan province, an official said on Sunday. 'The Islamic Culture and Guidance Minister Ali Jannati, scholars, poets, writers and lovers of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) poetry will be attending the one-day conference', to be held on Dec. 8, added the Director General of Golestan’s Islamic Development Organization Hojatoleslam Noorullah Vali-nejhad. “A total of 447 works themed on Ahl al-Bayt(AS) (the infallible progeny of the Prophet) were submitted to the event’s secretariat. It was scheduled to be held on Nov. 30 but was postponed due to the president and his cabinet’s trip to the province”, he added. “The congress will indeed be a great opportunity for Sunni and Shia poets to express their affection towards the Ahl al-Bayt(AS) which is, in our belief, a precious work”, Vali-nejhad noted./end
